Cottages in the Cotswolds : Sophie Cottage, near Chipping
Campden
Sleeps 3 - Prop No C0107
With stunning countryside all around, this very charming holiday home has been carefully converted this year from a period Grade II listed Cotswold stone barn. Retaining much character with exposed timbers, flagstone floors and a most unusual Cotswold stone window, your stay here is sure to be a relaxing and enjoyable one.
Next door to Kermit Cottage (sleeping 4) and set within a walled in garden, mainly laid to lawn, you have a perfect sheltered area in which to sit and take a breath of fresh air while enjoying a drink or eating al fresco on warm days. Within the same grounds of a period Cotswold stone farmhouse as Poppy & Clover you have use of a large communal area should you wish to barbecue or picnic and for those looking for a genuine Cotswold base to return to after a day exploring, you will not be disappointed.
Five minutes’ drive will take you to Hidcote Gardens (National Trust, opens seasonally) well worth a visit, unspoiled Chipping Campden and its wonderful architecture, restaurants and excellent smaller shops. A little further away is Shakespeare’s Stratford on Avon, Cheltenham and Oxford. Among the many places of interest are Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle, Bourton on the Water with its river and many attractions. A week is not enough!
